6:01pm: Dancing and Homework
So I went dancing in a big group It was a lot of fun. Some of the girls were nice enough to teach me and I met a lot of neat people. Everyone dresses up so formal.I wore my beige suit. We then went to a bar locally called the Wild Buffalo which was fun to see. Tonight I am going with the WWU Swing Kids up into Canada to go swing dancing at Abotsford. I am really enjoying my history Exam its a 10 page take home midterm In a 10-12 page essay, discuss the impact of World War I on European and world societies, political, and economic systems, and cultures. How were Europe and the world changed by this collective experience? Be specific. Anchor your general conclusions in specific references to our lecturer material, texts and films, and discussions: Mann’s Death in Venice, “Disorder and Early Sorrow,” “Mario and the Magician,” Renoir’s Grand Illusion, Pabst’s Westfront 1918m and Murnau’s The Last Laugh. Analyze characters, plot structures, symbols, motifs, etc. Thats the question. I recorded an impromptu lecture based on my outline to stay organized now I am writing the paper. Lecturing is so much better than writing. Well off to Canada

8:38pm: New York City
New York is amazing. For Christmas my family decided to not do presents this year and instead go as a family to Manhattan for a week and see Broadway shows. It was an amazing family vacation. We saw 4 shows and saw a lot of the city. We stayed at the Best Western that was less than a ½ block away from Times Square and Broadway. Times Square really is incredible with all of the ads and neon displays and lights. We went to see Les Miserables and Spamalot as a family on Broadway both which was amazing and we split up and saw shows on our own. I saw Phantom of the Opera because it is one of my favorite musicals and my dad and brother and I went to go see Blue Man Group again which was different and in a closer setting. We were in the 8th row and we got slimed and the Blue Men went out into the audience and stepped through the seats in front of us looked at us 2inchs away and paint from their clothes dripped onto my dads clothes as they practically stepped on him to climb the ladder into the balcony. It was a very small theatre. My dad really wanted to go to the top of the empire state building but no one wanted to. He convinced me and I went up with him. It was raining at ground level but at the top it was snowing. It was a very cool night view of the immense cityscape. I loved the city and all the busyness that goes with it. We went into the lobby of Trump Tower, went into Tiffany’s, and we also went into the famous Macy’s. Rockefeller center was amazing but the ice skating was small crowded and they charged a crazy $16.00 so I withheld on my desire to ice skate in New York.

9:06pm: French Project
*****note: I am not posting my project to gloat or boat it is just a place where I can back up my work online to access it on campus. It was a lot of fun doing this and I am very happy with the way my power point turned out.****

(("Outside of Paris
Our first encounter with James Bond is in the Casino of the fictional French town of Royale-les-Eaux. Described by Fleming in Casino Royale as being "just north of Dieppe" and lying "near the mouth of the Somme before the flat coastline soars up from the beaches of southern Picardy to the Brittany cliffs which run on to Le Havre", we have few clues as to where we can find it and it is not until On Her Majesty’s Secret Service that we learn a few more details.
Bond is driving his Bentley for a night at the tables of the casino in Royale-les-Eaux, when a girl in a white Lacia Flaminia Zagato Spyder overtakes him. He is on "that fast but dull stretch of N1 between Abbeville and Montreuil" and takes chase. The first opportunity we really have to place Royale is when Bond reaches a sign saying "Montreuil 5, Royale-les-Eaux 10, Le Touquet-Paris-Plage 15".
From the map we find that he must have passed through Wailly-Beaucamp, which lies on the N1, slightly more than 6 km from Montreuil and 19 km from Le Touquet-Paris-Plage. He then follows the girl through Montreuil and over the Étaples-Paris level crossing, after which "the left-hand turn for Royale came up".

his is where things don’t add up though – the distance from Montreuil to the coast is a total of more than 20 km, rather than the 10 km on the sign.
However, 12 km from Wailly-Beaucamp is Berck-Sur-Mer, known at the turn of the 20th century as Berck-Plage.This has the requisite casino and a beach, two attributes essential for Royale-les-Eaux, and at the turn of the 20th century became a place to visit for its air and light, much in the same way as Royale was visited for its spring water. Probably Royale is a mixture of several of the casino towns in the area and placing it precisely is futile.
Goldfinger sees Bond arrives in Le Touquet in his service- provided Aston Martin DB III. He is on the trail of Auric Goldfinger and having secreted a homing device on Goldfinger’s Rolls Royce, Bond is able to follow the car from a distance. Bond tails Goldfinger on the N1 through Abbeville, but when the road forks he mistakenly continues towards Paris. Realising the error when 10km short of Beauvais, he takes the N30 towards Rouen (in fact probably the N31). Goldfinger drives through Evreux and Chartres before making an overnight stop at one of the five star hotels in Orleans, "a priest and myth ridden town without charm or gaiety", while Bond decides upon the Hôtel de la Gare - "when in doubt, Bond always chose the station hotels.")))"

12:11am: Snow
Swing Dance was not happening tonight but I watched a movie with one of the swing dancers so that was fun. Skiing is at 6:40 Sunday morning I am taking the bus which is very nice I didn't have time to get chains and the parking lot is black ice. Bus is very cool worth the $15
ski from 9:00am-340pm and if I can go to Alderwood to see my friends church play but perhaps not cause of weather and homework.

9:33pm: Lecture
My Military History Lecture went very well. It was 45 min and I covered everything clearly. I had a classroom to deliver it in with a podium and a projector to put up my powerpoint which was used as just a visual aid the content was all in the delivery orally of the lecture. It was a lot of fun I really truly enjoy that kind of thing. My professor thought my paper was good but he said my lecture was even better for I drew out and expanded on points and even had a stronger more interesting thesis in my lecture. It feels so good to be done with the two papers. I am going to relax this weekend. I am going to watch movies tonight and play xbox. I ate an after dinner snack with my roomate and chilled to music and tomorrow is the swing dance.

4:58pm: Done with epic paper

Happy Family thanksgiving memories.
I finally finished my epic History 505 paper. It totals 20 pages including the works cited with an even 24 sources. Now all I need to do is create an outline to prepare a 40 min lecture that I deliver on friday at 4pm. The weekend is upon me I can smell it! I have a French presentation on the history of Paris that I need to prepare and deliver in French on Wednesday. On Sunday night after skiing I am going to see the Christmas Play at Alderwood Church to support Phil and Amy. I am going Sunday night at 6pm. The ski slope closes at 3:30pm so I have plenty of time. I am going to Thursday night dinner today with Austin's friend Nicole so I get to meet a whole bunch of new people so that should be fun. The Broadway Strike has ended so I will get to see shows on Broadway which is very exciting. My family leaves for New York City on December 17 until December 22end. It is very important then when we get back that Tyler and I go skiing. I am thinking Chrystal Mt. because it is close to Sarah for Tyler plus Chrystal is amazing and it is right next to Mt Ranier.

9:38pm: Bowling
So just a quick hang out at the pizzaria turned into bowling. It was with the HGA people other History Grad students so it was fun. Mike was there and we had about 5 people bowling which was cool. I got 2 strikes which was awesome but getting home around 9:40 wasn't so great for my paper. I have all day tomorrow so I guess it isn't all that bad. I just hope it can be edited to prefection enough and that I can find a way to get together a great outline. I can't wait till I finish my lecture and after I turn in the paper It will be all over and I can dance and ski.
4:04pm: writing and eating pizza
So I picked up my armchair general magazine along with a really cool book of a James Bond Encyclopedia but it was a great break to ease my mind after two papers and a test. That is the last thing I will ever get before Christmas which is coming up very quickly but not quick enough for my taste. I want to be on that airplane to New York and I want to be on dangerous ski slopes with my brother. 3 weeks will either speed by or grind through slowly I don't know which yet.I am on page 14 and now need to overhaul it through all the mistakes. I also need to add to get the last page and pull out a strict outline in order to prepare a 40 min lecture that I am giving at 4pm on Friday. Tonight I am going to the Pizza party at 6 and coming back home to work hard on my paper. It needs to be perfect because it is a 500 level class. French test went so/so. I knew a lot of it which was fine I guess. My parents are going to see So You Think You Can Dance Live tonight which is cool. I almost got to go because my dad had robots but he got out of it. Ive got to much school work anyways.

27th November 2007

9:52pm: Paper mode
So I am chugging along on my paper now at page 13 1/2 so almost there. Took a break to watch Beauty and the Geek with Heidi. We also watched the YouTube wonders of the rant against Pachabelle and some of the other stuff Caitlin showed me over break. That stuff is really funny. The show extended it even longer which is stupid because we wanted to know who won. I am rooting for Jasmine and Dave which is crazy because I had no idea how easy it is to get sucked into reality TV. I got a French test tomorrow which I hope will go better than the others. Got the Graduate Student Pizza party Wednesday night so that should be fun. I have to finish my paper and prepare a 40 min lecture on the methods of military history. In other exciting news a semi formal swing dance is coming up this saturday held at the Mt Baker High School so I am going to that and even better Mt Baker Ski Area is slated to open this Thursday so on Sunday I plan to hit the slopes for the first run of the season. I cant wait to scope out the double black runs on Baker an entirely new area for me to explore. My skies are ready and after all the heavy school load, swing dancing and tearing down the slopes is exactly the full fillment that I need right now. Maybe someone might crash and I could be called up to fly on top of it all that would be ultimate...but that would mean someone may get killed for the survival rate declines in the winter for downed pilots so I will keep it at just swing dancing and skiing because that in itself is enough. I do say I had a lot of joy writing my WW2 essay but not so much for my 505 paper. Just want to get it done. This is going to be a good Ski Season I have Baker, Whistler, Blackcomb, Stevens Pass, and Mission Ridge all calling out my name. I guess I will have to share them all!!!

9:59pm: Writing 505 paper in the Snow??
Snow?? on November 26th? Snow...yes snow it is lightly snowing outside my window after pouring heavily all day the tempature as of 9:00 dropped below 32 and I watch out my window at falling snow kind of wierd but cant help to not get excited with my shaped snow skiis lying underneith my bed ready for the season of bliss. I have been working countless hours on my History 505 paper on the methodology of military history that should be 15 pages I have ten so far and I have a lot of work ahead of me. I turn in my finished 13 pager for History 408 tommorow. That was a fun one on the Battle of the Ardennes Offensive. A nice hot cup of tea and my books and reasearch all stretched accross my bed it has been a pretty productive eavning. It is nice to have any reminant of emotion left behind. I am single again and have embraced it. No shave November is almost over and I have a pretty signifigant beard that is in the Christmas Photos this year which suprises me I thought my mom was going to make me shave but it looked good.

8:34pm: Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving was amazing. Spent it in Wentatchee with my Evans family. Tyler's Girlfriend Sarah came up and spent it with us which was a lot of fun. The food was plentiful and fantastic. We stayed two nights at Lake Chelan and played Chicken Foot a family favorite. We took the family xmas picture. I have a small beard now from no shave november and a fully developed mustasche. Tonight we finally got home and had a chinese food feast. I helped my dad carry up all the xmas boxes which is a ton since my Mom loves to decorate. We all played Wii bowling with my Mom being the Champion and my sister came in second. My dog and cat are very friendly. My cat Cholie sat in my lap for a long time as I did my homework. The next three days of break I am going to spend some time writing my two monster papers for school. I brought a tub of my library research books with me. It is pretty nice to be home here in Sammamish. I am getting so excited to Ski. I drove over Stevens pass and there was a lot of snow but not enough for skiing yet. 3 more weeks and I get to go to New York with my family I am so excited and so is my family. Broadway better finish striking so we can make it to go to those plays. Holidays are so awsome!!!

16th November 2007

10:09am: Blues Underground
I am heading down to Seattle to Seattle. It will be the first time in a long time since I danced at Blues Underground and danced there as a single man. It should be a lot of fun. Sunday I am going to the Seahawk game with my Dad. They are going to beat da Bears from Chicago. Thanksgiving is creeping around the corner it better not come to fast cause i have too many papers to do.

1:25am: Weekend
Well its the weekend and that meant reading and I did it I read 400 pages in 2 days I can't believe it and I even got a great start on two papers. My book review paper is 2 1/2 pages and my WW2 paper is a strong 6 and converted into the Chicago style citation which I never knew how to do. I love footnotes by the way. Talked to a whole slew of people today. My Grandma Coleman called me and that was special we talked for a while and it turned out that we hit the subject of grandpa which we both got a tiny sad but we started laughing remembering the really funny things that happened like the McDonalds song, marbles, and all other stuff. She told me about my great granddad and how hyper and fast walker he was even when he was pushing 80 and told me about Marissa and her diving meet. It was really cool to see what was going on in her life since she does not have email and I don’t get the chance to see her very often. I got to talk to my Evans side of the family as well including my Uncle Garrett, who I never usually get to talk to. I called to check on my car payment. I got to talk to Laura for a while and found out I can go to Mars Hill Church from up here by watching their internet broadcast of the Sermons which rocks since I need church back into my life. I miss Shannon quite a bit she has a lot on her mind right now. I also got to talk to Jon who has a girlfriend which is awesome. He is working at a dream filler job a games store that has dungeons and dragons he says he likes it like I liked working with airplanes at Kenmore. My room mate invited me to go see a movie with him and some girls and I went along with Gregg my other room mate. We went to see the Beetles musical movie into the Universe. It was artsy and pretty good but pretty weird. Camping tomorrow I cant wait we will see and be flexible with the weather but I get to see Ben so that’s all that matters and we will be on the island of Whidby Island . O and my Civil Air Patrol Unit Seattle Squadron served at the veterans day parade down in Kent. It was a while ago like two months ago but here is a photo of me Phil and Erin rock climbing up on the cliffs at North Bend

1:06pm: today
Last night went to a firefly marathon which was fun and relaxing on a Friday night. I need to get my teapot up here so I can make Peppermint tea I love that stuff. I also had really strong coffee so I was feeling pretty relaxed. Today i woke up to Full metal jacket and need to somehow write my megiall paper as well as finish the insane amount of reading. It has been fun talking to friends and family like my brother and sister and grandparents. My bro is going to a comedy club and staying in a high rise apatement in downtown Chicago and on the roof he is chilling in a Hot tub No I am not Jealous...well I guess a little but I am in Washington State the best place in the world so Buyaaa! Made an italaian lunch for myself for lunch yesterday with coffee. How am I doing you may ask how am I coping? Well yes thats right the more school stuff I get done the better I feel and pretty soon I will be having a great time camping so yeah there you go. Sorry for the spelling mistakes I really wanted to shoot through this entry so I can read more but my life needs to go back on record I feel. I am excited that my future WW2 pacific Carrier Battle class is sliding into place I already bought the books for it which is cool cant wait till they come and I want to get this Bloody historical methods paper done so I can go back to having fun writing about 1944 Battle of the Bulge so yeah I am going back to work now..Oh and I am reading the bible again which is great and well needed some of the verses I was looking over was 1 cornithians 13:4-5 Psalm 37:8 Do not fret it only causes harm john 14:1 and they are very strongly helpful with all this school stuff...Ryan Out>>>>

1:47am: I have 400 pages to read in 2 days: 3 (15) page papers: additional 150 pages: and yeah I am going camping with my friends.

So yeah my best friend and I planned out a camping trip for the three day weekend and we are getting more of his buddies to join us. It should be awsome...wet and cold... but awesome..going to have steaks and food and do some hiking look out at the islands and tenting and games good old manly fun.
Here is the stats that we so proudly presented::::
Tagline: Becuase we can
Host: Ben
Type: Trips - Camping Trip

Time and Place
Start Time: Sunday, November 11, 2007 at 2:00pm
End Time: Monday, November 12, 2007 at 10:00pm
Location: Decpetion Pass
City/Town: Oak Harbor, WA
I want to go camping at deception pass sunday night! It will be awsome---I have all the rain gear (tarps etc..) just incase...just to give us a little taste of summer in the middle of the quarter --- I at least want to go on a hike...

Doing well with the intense homework load I am handling it great. I also went to the Table Francais where a group of students go to a bar or coffee house downtown and hang out speaking only french. The french tutors are their and it is a fun cool way to meet people and get to know to speak french better. I love to speak French anytime I get. My X-box is set to French meaning all the games I play the objectives and instructions and sometimes even the spoken word is french. Every movie I put into my X-box is automatically dubbed into spoken french no subtitles. I love it. Its been 2 1/2 weeks and I have watched like 5 movies and have yet to watch one in English. I love it. I have learned to embrace the language rather than curse it out and my grade has been marginally improving I got an A on the last written composition and who knows how my exam went that I just finished taking today. i think it went rather well.
